Rants etc.....

Never thought I would be the Dad that avoided coming home after work, but I seriously cant take much more of my soon to be 5 year old. He beats his 3 year old sister relentlessly, doesn't listen, takes off from our acreage, breaks everything he can get his hands on, and just found out he took the keys out of the lawnmower my neighbour lent me because I don't even have time enough to fix mine, and they are now forever lost to the abyss. I wish I was kidding, but he could give Denis the Menace a solid run for his money. And I dont have the patience of a cartoon Dad.... Absolutely lost at this point.

This is why I can't understand having kids older in life. Had my first at 20 and feel tired out by my 5 and 7 year old kids. 5 is a horrible age for boys but hold in there it does get better :)

Ps my daughter smashed our tv at 5 2 monitors multiple laptops and computers.... and if you want a awesome deal on a replacement tv bring enaberifs gf she is a boss at getting good deals and scary as **** if you don't give her the marked deal. :)
Oh 55" tv for less than a 42" you are awesome

That kid would be locked in a room very quickly and not let out until he learned to smarten up. You think I'm kidding? I'm not.

You send that kid to his room when he is doing this and you tie the door to another so it can't open. He'll tantrum and fit and scream and god knows what else but he'll wear himself out.

This will require you and your wife to be on the same page and realize no matter what just let him go at it. If anything is broken in there because of his fits of rage when he comes out after he is done you then tell him that because of his attitude those things will not be replaced.

I have done this before and while it may seem cruel and very mean kids learn very quickly any behavior like that is not welcome and if you want to be in your room while everyone else is having fun then that is what happens.

Arrived at home yesterday evening to see my front door window smashed! They took all my GF jewelry and all our small electronics! It happened during the day and my street is quite busy during the day.... I can't even play soccer, they stole my sport bag with all my stuff in it...

If you do not listen to and take this advice VERY seriously you will have MAJOR problems as this child ages. Quite honestly, if either of my boys showed that sort of behaviour they would at the minimum be locked in their room. Hitting won't help, but severe tough love will.

This is gonna take alot of painful effort for you and the wife, you gotta draw the line now. No mercy.

My advice is learn how to be Jekyll and Hyde.

Shower the kid with love and attention when he's good. Be something he doesn't like when he's not. Make it an easy clear choice for him.

I'm quite sure some people would object with how I am with my kids, but they love me, show it, and I constantly have people marveling over how well behaved they are.

Ugg my niece brings her PC over becasue it says her win7 isn't genuine even though it is so I fix that then almost every update fails so after a few hours trying to fix that I just reinstalled , everything works.
now she also wanted me to check out a toshiba laptop that was given to her all seems good but I cannot connect to the wifi or directly through the lan the dam thing keeps trying to do a 168. address instead of the 192. that my router assigns it is frustrating the hell out of me .

I tend to keep a generic usb wifi around which uses win7 generic drivers and common linux drives as well as a usb flash drive with the specific drivers just for cases like this.

Very annoying when you can't connect a system to the infowebs.
