Rants etc.....

Shaw is digital not HD unless you pay for the HD channels. Digital does not mean it will be broadcasted in 16:9 format.

SD doesnt mean 4:3 either mate. Nor does HD necessarily mean 16:9. The formatting of the video is solely at the discretion of the transfer engineer/director/etc. All it means (in the case of HD) is the max width and height cant be over 1920 or 1080 for HD streams. PLENTY of 'HD' movies are transferred in their native format...and thus the bars at top and bottom to make them fit the 16:9 'frame'.

Plenty of SD content can also be filmed in 16:9 format (soaps were one of the first to do this). Hell plenty of SD videos were sold as either 'wide screen' or 'pan and scan' with multiple copies of each video floating around back in the VHS/DVD days. :thumb:

No I'm quite aware as I've had Shaw and my parents had Bell Satellite and either you would just suck it up and watch how it was or always adjust the zoom levels.

It has nothing to do with how the tv is or blah blah... Its just how tv is broadcasted these days which is why I don't even bother with cable anymore.

I know telus optik has the option to auto detect format and match your TV format. But I know the TV haters or shaw lovers will poke some hole in this as I know it's not 100% but I know after the first time I clicked (adjust ratio for all content to match tv) I have only had the top and bottom lines never side to side.

With our shaw we didn't get this option.

I slipped of the top step to my front door last night and crashed all the way down to the ground, sore hip, sore back and a sore shoulder which makes snapping and popping noises when I move it, hurts like a SoB when I've got to shift the truck into fifth...

ouch see the doc get some xrays if you can .
Brck and shoulders ae really hurting to day am going to force myself out the door into the pouring rain for a run in hopes it will all go away, I know that sometimes if I do allot of leg work it seems to get rid of my headaches at times.

Rants

Yeah this time of year is tricky for even the able bodied people. Hope ur feeling better soon. Check with ur doctor, there's a topical pain reliever called Penn Said. It helps me "break"the pain cycle when it's a rough day. :thumb:

Occasionally it will help with my migraines too...

Don't forget to stretch it out as much as possible, not to the point of increased pain of course. I'm sure ur doing that already though...

Stay away from a run until u know there's no internal injuries, it could further increase ur damage and pain!
