Most new phones come with a usb dongle to swap stuff over.

for some reason it wont let me do this I can see the phone but the folder is blank so I tried to transfer but receive waring bout device stopped responding or is disconnected, I went into device manager on my PC switch the cell to Mtp USB like I do with my other cell but it doesn't work either I should maybe post this else where on the forum

I didnt realize tha tI had to turn it on each time on my cell phone lol soi that issue on my end has been figured out
I also tried the trimming of the card thing but it sees the card but cant read it so I will just go to the local store tomorrow and get a new one

Not quite a rant yet, but I tried having a bath for the first time in my house, 2 years since moving in a couple weeks ago. It's a big corner tub, but not hot-tub massive or anything.

Started running out of hot water at about 1/2-2/3 full. I may have ran the dishwasher or done laundry that day so thought maybe it was a bit low. A week later I tried again and it was a the same result.

So today I tried flushing it. I'm assuming the previous owners probably never did it once. Water ran clear almost immediately so I don't think it's that the tank had a massive layer of sediment.
I'm not sure if it's that the tank is just too small or if my hot water tank is nearing the end of it's life. It's probably the original from the build so it's nearing 20 years old.

I might try putting in a new dip tube to see if that's the issue, and will probably throw a new sacrificial anode while I'm at it, but I'm wondering if the old gal just isn't long for this world. Really don't want to replace it, but it might be worth it in the end.

Didn't think about the insurance aspect of it, I'll call the provider and see what my stipulations are. If I decide to replace it I may get your two cents on tankless vs tanked. When I had the heating company come in to quote me on zoning the house they recommended a 50 gallon 'John wood power direct vent' tank, but I didn't look too much into my options.

I'll probably replace the dip tube and anode anyway, it's easy enough. I haven't soldered since I was an apprentice but I shouldn't be so out of practice I can't replace a dip tube haha (Steamfitter, but I've only ever worked on industrial stuff professionally)

I think what surprised me the most about tankless heaters is that I have yet to see a new home with them. Before we bought this second house we even looked at the 1m+ show homes in Summerside. I knew we couldn't afford them but if we sold the rental there was ones nearby that would have been in range and we were there already so why not look. All 3 1m+ show homes none of them were tankless, IIRC both were dual 50gal tanks i could be wrong on that part but definitely not tankless.

My understanding is that it's the higher upfront cost that keeps builders from using them (as it doesn't really cause an equivalent 'bump' in sales price).

Even high end residential developers love cutting corners and costs when they can, so I suspect that's the main reason, but I could certainly be wrong.

Tankless prices are way down from 10 years ago. A couple 50gal gas tanks are over a grand each, my cost, after taxes.

A decent tankless is 2-3 grand. Rinnai also makes a condensing - combination furnace / hot water tank which works amazingly well. One vent/combustion air penetration and over 97% efficient.

The number 1 thing before installing tankless is knowing your water quality. Hardwater clogs up tankless in a hurry.

Fair enough, I've read that Edmonton's very hard water isn't ideal for tankless, but it was mostly on reddit which isn't an authoritative source of course.

I'll read into the Rinnai units.
