Rants etc.....

I try to be polite all the time. I say hello, how is your day, have a great day, hold doors, let people in my lane, just generally try to be friendly as much as possible. Sometimes I let these negative people into my mind and they stay there for the day, or even two. People wonder why others are not so nice or gentelmanly. They wonder why people are not so willing to help others, mainly the elderly or the fairer sex. Because people like that mess it up for everyone. Do you think I want to offer help with the kindess of my heart and then get put on blast? No. It sucks and felt like shit. Anyway, I was out today and I was my usual friendly self, so other me being annoyed it didnt affect much in regards to my treatment of others going forard.

I remember when I moved to Victoria back in teh mid 1990s coming from Whalley Surrey people jus tdidnt do tha tif they did something was up but every day while walking through Esquimalt 99% of the people were smiling and or saying hello this really threw me off coming from a fairly rough area but over time I started to do it also and since then no matter where I am I am polite even to total ass hats, I guess in a what I am what Americans consider a Canadian, but I am more like this

The solid white in my EKWB cryofuel sure didn't last long. Water's only got the slightest shade of white to it now. Almost clear.

Which probably means the res has a small buildup of white on the bottom I'm going to guess. Not like I'm taking glam photos to post to reddit or anything soon, but it's a bit disappointing.

I've got bottles of the stuff to go through so I'll probably give it another try, but lesson learned for the next project, stick with clear coolant.

For work I need to track my mileage each day. Always been using Google Maps. Fast forward to new vehicle. It has Android Auto so I'd use Maps from the vehicle. As far as I can tell it works fine when I do not set a destination from the vehicle. But anytime i set a destination it is just flat out wrong in terms of mileage and time. And I mean like 500km off. It will show me driving for 23 hours yet only 9km. When in fact I did 700km over 10 hours.

Will need to do testing further to see if I set the destination from the phone itself it it still has the issue.

I've used Android Auto with Google Maps extensively and never had that issue. Android Auto should be providing you with the same information you are getting from Google Maps in the phone. A lot of it is just a form of mirroring as I understand.

Has to be something else going on there... What? Unfortunately I have no clever suggestion :)

I haven't been watching Win 11 or anything about it for quite some time (I'm still fine with W10), but today I did and oooohhh boy how quickly I am reminded that MS are utter POS jerks.

Requiring an internet connection to install W11? Requiring you to sign in with MS? Mr. Gates, would you be so kind as to swivel on my mid-digit.

Ever since the pandemic began MS has been forcing changes and software on users of Windows. Installing Edge, adding "bars" to the bottom of the taskbar, trying to force you change browsers to theirs, etc is really pissing me off.

I know there are still a couple workarounds for the online & MS account hurdles, but I still find it disgusting that they've been doing pretty much whatever they want to their users - no asking, just forcing.

I'm so ticked-off that I'm actually going to start researching Linux distros again - if you guys have any suggestions on where to begin, I'm game. In fact, I'm going to do absolutely everything I can to make MS (sorry, I'll use the correct spelling: M$) lose money from now on.

I've said it before for other things, but this rule is absolutely universal: Nothing overrides freedom of choice. M$ can go colorful metaphor themselves for forcing these things on us.

/Rant.

Sorry.

there is a workaround to bypass the MS account requirement.
