Just curious what is everyone's go-to flashlight for working on PCs.

I'm scratching my head looking at many different styles and subtypes.

Requirements: Magnetic on at least one side. Adjustable aiming without imprecise "clicks". Small size (no car / workshop lights). Can stand on its own if necessary.

These are the candidates I'm looking at so far:

1) Westinghouse 3 in 1
- Obviously the most flexible, unsure if a jack of all trades is master of none.

2) NextLed Flexible
- Leaning a bit in this direction, but an excessively long flexible neck is a question mark.

3) NextLed foldable
- Unsure about the size.

4) Carelite Work Light
- I've already purchased this one, thinking it was smaller than it is. It's about two stacked hockey pucks in size and weight, so a bit too bulky.

Let's get the discussion going 👍

Hmmm. Curious what others say. I always just use a well lit room…and flexible head lamp if I need extra. I have various lights/flashlights that I could use, but I don't think I have ever noticed a need for them with PC building.

I've been using a pair of square Dollar store LED lights for several years. They've served me well.

That said, I've recently acquired a large floor stand magnifying shop light that I didn't think I'd get much use out of, but it came in quite handy during a build yesterday.

I can't seem to click your links from work, but I use a headlamp. The kind you'd have for camping or hiking. Mine also has an up and down pivot (it is click-based though so you wouldn't like that) and two brightness settings.

Light weight, hands free, and stays looking where I'm looking (y)

I have a few dewalt 20V flashlights, 2 spots lights and 1 work light (wider area). I use them camping and around the house/garage.

Also have the flashlight on my phone for something small. PC work I almost always have it either in a room with enough light or I have the case on its back side when working in the main chamber so all the light comes in directionally.

If it requires me to crawl on the floor with the side panel off, I'm relocating it until the work is done.

Costco has some toques in stock with headlamps built in that are USB rechargeable. I thought about buying one because of the dark shadow when outside on the BBQ from the one yard light. Would work well for PC stuff too
