Whats your latest purchase?

Not likely. ICE would be mostly interested in the driver, the vehicle, etc. if by surface. Which is why they never catch guns & drugs leaving the US. But they do have informers, so they'd stop anything from a tip. While Customs is responsible for export controls it's mostly concerned with commercial shipments - i.e. goods that are prohibited from being exported to certain countries. For Canada it's not an issue currently.

They have that 100 mile immigration rule where there's a zone they can mess with anyone and any vehicle. There was a recent video posted where a Ontario resident driving in New York state was only a couple of kilometres from re-entering Canada and he was harassed by a customs agent - told to go back to Canada...

They wouldn't even see anything shipped by air.

US Custom's officer vs Canadian leaving the US
To be honest I am not sure if that guy in the video is legit customs or what ever there are no markings on the vehicle no flashing lights nothing

Cancelled the 5080, gonna sell the 9950x3d and go with a 5090.

Figure the 9800x3d is still performing well. But if I'm gonna spend the $$ I may as well go big, especially with upgrading my monitor.
If you don't have the budget to have it all, so to speak, and don't need the cores from the 9950X3D, I certainly think that's the right move. The 5090 is going to give you the FPS for games, and the 9800X3D is more than up to the challenge.

Now, I just finished a build for my brother-in-law that has a 9950X3D with a 5080. But in his case, with the type of games he's playing these days, other requirements, and his budget, that combo made sense. The cost jump from a 5080 to a 5090 is pretty severe and he's only gaming at 1440p.

I would like to have the top GPU of it's time once though... i've always had the "second" best.

How cheap is too cheap???? :)

2TB gen3 NVMe for my laptop @ $123.

Installed and appears to be working as advertised.

So....... with games getting so large, is 2TB now the standard for any laptop/PC intended for gaming? 4TB might still be a bit on the pricey side, but (IMO) 2TB feels like it's at a reasonable price point.

I went from 500+1TB to 1TB+4TB and still well over 50% full. (got the 4TB a while ago while prices were low just before they spiked)

I went with 4TB SSDs in the builds I just did for family. If the budget supports it I'd go 4TB but yeah, 2TB would be my minimum comfortable option these days.

Twice a year (once in the spring when I stop using the furnace as often) and once right about now (when I start using the furnace again) I try to quickly do the carpets. 2 kids, 2 dogs, carpet still in most of the house. Keep it generally pretty clean but dust and everything else overtime does accumulate.

Well carpet cleaner not working properly anymore leaving the floor quite wet and the dial to select how much solution was being mixed with the water is now broken too, but CT did have one on sale, a XL model is also on sale but more expensive.

Honestly not as nice as the one it is replacing but it actually works properly.

We have that one you ended up with. Definitely agree that its not the most quality unit persay but it does do the job well.

For my own personal use... Soundcore Anker Liberty 4 Noise Cancelling buds.

At $80 I'm actually really impressed with these. I had to spend some time tweaking the EQ in the Soundcore app, but they sound great for wireless buds. They won't compete with wired, audiophile earbuds; but for Spotify and Google Music listening on a phone while working out, they're pretty excellent. They also stay in my ears really well, and the battery life is INSANE. I can see them coming close to the 50 hour claim in optimal conditions.
