New computer chair

I actually wished that I could have a place in which I could have a computer chair so that I could hget into flight games but as it is my chair is actually a fitter first 75Cm classic exercise ball lol

Whats an extended session lol....get up and stretch ....go for a walk......I buy cheap $250 Office chairs from Costco.....work fine....although this one I have right now the hydraulic ram is borked...Im almost 6 ft....so my bloody knees wind up near my chin ...:blarg:...took it apart and put a section of PVC pipe in there so it doesnt go down on its own anymore !!!!

My thighs have never bothered me in a regular Office chair and I spend 5 months out of the year on my ship (with a regular Office chair in my Ships Office), I also had both of my hips replaced (I was quite young for that) 4 yrs ago...........:thumb:

An extended session? 8-12 hours usually. Getting up and stretching is fine but I think it's probably about time I invest in a standing desk.

I didn't get the really expensive 'balance' fabric. I went w/ mercer.

Only 180,000 versus 200,000 for 'Wyzenbeek, double rubs' of the balance.

I believe the Aeron has 100,000 double rubs. I use mine a whole lot and after 10 years mine still looks good. So I think the Embody should last a long while.

I wonder if it's the same for the newer mastered versions? In any case that's good to know!

If I can get a decent amount back for my Aeron I think I'll probably get the Embody as well. I'll probably miss the mesh in the hot summer months though.

Be careful about the standing desk options too. There was just a physiotherapist/OT doing an assessment for someone at my work and they said that the mistake a lot of people make with the standing desk is thinking that standing all the time is better. It isn't; that can hurt you too. A sit/stand desk is ideal, where you can sit some and stand some, but the "some" for both is key.

IKEA sells manual and power ones for reasonable prices, been considering that but not sure if it's really that beneficial... why not just get up and walk around a bit every 1-2 hours instead?

Yup, that is a valid option. I have a reminder to get up every 30 minutes although I miss it sometimes. What works best really depends on a person's physical situation. Proper ergonomics and taking breaks have helped my back issue a great deal. But static standing wouldn't work for me given my condition; I find it killer.

Im a big fan of the DXRacer Drifting series chairs, I have the regular one at home and a full grain leather at work. took a fabric pen to both so the logo doesn't stand out.

Don't most of their chairs retail for over $400?

You would've been better off saving your money and just getting an ikea markus instead. Dxracers are overpriced and overrated (no offense). The "leather" they use is a PU bonded leather and it will start to flake away after a couple years.

Just saying, if somebody is willing to drop that kind of money on a sub-par chair, then they're better off picking up a second hand Herman Miller, Steelcase or Haworth. Often times startups/businesses go bankrupt and you can snag one for a steal.
