3D Printer / CNC discussion thread

Anybody got experience with a Flashforge AD5X? They're currently $519 on Amazon, and to add a multicolor CFS to my K1C is $419 plus another $75 or so for the adapter. I'd probably sell off my K1C and be able to get $300-350 back.

I know you're coming from a 220x220 print bed so it doesn't seem small, but moving up to the 250X250 bed of the P1S was a huge improvement over the 220X220 bed of my ender.

The only things I've printed that used up the maximum area on my K1C were RC plane parts and parts for my riser. I've never felt that the bed wasn't big enough.

I should probably just buy a used P1S or X1C combo.

The P1S combo is still on sale, but admittedly $250 more than the sale you were looking at once you factor in the shipping. (There's even a $15 off $130+ popup for registering for their email).

Thanks. I've decided to do absolutely nothing about it until after my vacation. Which will bring it close to Black Friday, and the market will have changed again. :)

I'll continue on with my updates on my K1C, that will keep me busy for a couple of weeks until I leave.

Finally broke into ASA after a bunch of pla/petg in wood/cf/glow etc.

3 attempts to get the print setting right but functional print with no warping. Smell isn't great though. Even the second fail print was maybe 3 layers lines and the flexibility/strength was amazing. PLA or PETG would have snapped with a fraction of the force.

So I got some feedback on the ASA prints. Wasn't my model but my print settings. Had printed 4 wheel hub rings (for hub centric rims). So handing them over for my friend to use on his car had me a little nervous but he has already been out on the highway and no weird vibrations that would have occured if they had warped or put the wheel slightly off center

Updated Bambu A1 this morning and then could no longer use OrcaSlicer. I would have to use LAN only mode, which would break the Bambu app. At least it is easy to roll back to an older FW version that still allows it.

I've got a third party touchscreen for my P1S so I've been avoiding updating the firmware.
