ADULTS ONLY - what's your favorite drink?

Just poured myself a ginger ale and spicebox whiskey - though generally it would be wisers whiskey and ginger ale. Big fan of gin and tonic, or gin and soda if I'm going for something low cal.

I'm more of an on the rocks drinker vodka or light rum being the picks.

I used to swill dark Woods Old Navy rum when I was a kid.

Back east everclear equivalent was Alcool or something like that which mixed with grapefruit juice perfectly killing the taste.

Down In PV Mexico I found fire water in the store brutal stuff something you wouldn't make a night of or maybe you would.

now I will post a story that may label me a heretic.

I bought the bottle of Blue Label in Ab...saved a mint over BC prices. opened it when I was with my folks and my brother at a B&B near some hot springs.

they all reacted in horror/grief and said 'THIS TASTES LIKE DIRT!' I agreed.

not to waste the leftovers though, I poured it all into a cup with Coke.

found out the next morning that my snoring was so loud my parents could hear it through the walls and that my brother who slept in the the room with me heard me snore through his ear buds playing music, while he wore his shooting muffs. suddenly the two ladies in the table next to us started to laugh. they said they heard me sore too.

I don't drink much or often, but I'm not a lightweight...but that Blue Label sure had me relaxed that night!

okay...so let's mix (HA! see what I did there?) this up and start being more specific, like some of you were and some of you weren't.

what brands of your preferred drink are your go-to's?

if it's straight up, my go-to is rye...Wiser's to be exact. I've got a bottle of just about everything they've produced, including some high end limited edition specialty runs they've made.

for scotch, Glenlivet. I've actually an unopened bottle of 21 year, waiting for a special occasion. I've also got a bottle of Johnny Walker Blue Label...which is quite the acquired taste. I like Glen's even palate, and something-a-rather-bruchladic that is smokey...the peaty dirt of Blue Label...well, having the bottle for 5 years now, has become something I can tolerate, but it's definitely not the profile I seek. I've got a bottle of Okanagan Spirits Laird of Fintry single malt that I've yet to open.

for bourbon, I haven't found a go-to yet, but I have enjoyed both Buffalo Trace and Bullit. and if we mention sour mash, Southern Comfort.

I'm playing around with a lot of gin lately...I do like Bombay Sapphire, but like I mentioned earlier, I'm trying all the BC distiller products.

if I drink vodka, it's got to be potato vodka. I'm not looking for grain vodka (coff - white whiskey - coff), the stuff is horrid.

I'm not too ejumicated on rum...but I do like Old Navy Dark.

anyone have stories to tell of Everclear?

Wisers Double Still Rye.... mmmmmm. Also tasted the new Canadian Club 40yr, my dad got a couple bottles. As well as the 35yr Wisers. The Canadian club was ok, but the Wisers was fantastic.

Craft Beer (Right now my favorite beer is Rhyme & Reason by Collective Arts, though I'm a big fan of my bread in a bottle - Trappistes Rochefort 8)
Tequila
Rye&Coke
Rye&G'Ale

Gibson's Finest Rare 12 Year Old Whisky

Bacardi Superior Rum

Kahlua Coffee Liqueur

Baileys Chocolate Cherry

Rickard's Red

Holsten Premium Bier

Heineken

Molson Canadian
