Canadian CRT Class Action

Its saying to select your bank, which would require a login.
You sir, are correct, and I stand..... well.... corrected! ;)

So Cptn Vortex, just out of curiosity, can we safely assume that Scotiabank IS where you bank? If so, given that the email is giving you the option to "select a different financial institution", I wonder if you have that same email address associated with another account at another bank? I've never read anything about this, and am kind of wondering why some of these things simply deposit the funds into the account associated with a particular email address, whereas others require input from the receiver of the funds. MAYBE they're requiring input on every one of these things, in hopes that a certain percentage of people will let it slide too long and the link will expire..... 🤔

If you select a different bank it still opens a new tab to your bank's online portal thus your account information should already populate and all you'd need to do is enter your password. It doesn't matter what email account is associated with your bank, it just opens the portal in a new browser tab.

Yes I bank with Scotia, the link lets me then choose to open with my app on my phone for which I use fingerprint to log in. All the EMT's I get give the option to select another institution, even though I dont bank outside of Scotia myself.

I haven’t received any emails or anything for this yet. Fingers crossed I get my few $ as well.

I haven't received anything either, but the website states: "If the value of your claim currently exceeds $20 you will not receive payment in the first distribution".

I am guessing that explains my case.

Not that that particular info is what I was wondering about, but based on what you said, SHOULDN'T it matter what email account is associated with your bank? For instance, using this CRT thing as an example, assuming I gave them an email address of abc@gmail.com, which I had associated with an account at TD, and they sent the funds/Interac notice to that email address, and then I decided I wanted to "select different financial institution", which was RBC, and my email address associated with my RBC account was xyz@gmail.com...... is the whole thing STILL going to work as intended? 🤔

I was wondering about the different ways this same thing is done, i.e. I've received some emails like the above, where I've had to input some info in order to get the deed done, whereas other Interac e-transfers have simply been deposited directly into my account, and the email I receive is simply to let me know the deed has already been done.
