GPU price hikes again.

Just surprised were still see the 1080 ti level cards being gobbled up for it. Hopefully, the mining crap slows down in the next generation.
It's only going to pick up unless we have a sudden crash. At this point, people are doing it for greed and the original purpose of cryptocurrency has been thrown out the window.

Look on the bright side. Our used hardware is worth more as well. So if you can go the next couple months without desktop gaming or something, then you might be able to make quite a bit. Even a 7950 is going for $160 on eBay :haha:

Side note: The 7950 sucked at mining. I couldn't mine anything with mine. Or it was set up improperly.

I remember this happened in the 900 series days too. I'm pritty sure I sold my used 970 for the same or more than I paid for it.

what the hell is going on with hardware pricing - ram, gpus, now psu's and motherboards?

Suppliers have told us everything related to mining is basically going to go up... So that means lower end CPU's, ATX boards, and higher end PSU's. Ram has been going up steadily over the last year.

you can blame miners all you want, at the end of the day its not the miners causing price hikes, its the greedy corporate companies that want more money because they have to produce more product in the end, not costing much more for production or parts (negligible increases due to volume based needs) but because they can charge more and make their fiscal quarters/year ends with larger inflated profits to please investors and bottom dollars.
