NVIDIA GTX 780 Ti Review Comment Thread

^^^ That is absolutely correct....bear in mind there is a lot of "false info" re: the requirement for more than 3GB VRAM if you're only using a single 1440 / 1600p monitor. imho 3GB of VRAM is more than enough for single monitor....just 7 months ago I was running SLi 580 Classy's with 3GB VRAM with no issues.....perhaps B4 (which I dont play) reuire more for 1440p....? no idea, but I dont tink its a big issue unless you're planning Surround or 4K.

I agree with that when it comes to un-modded games. Of course it changes with games like Skyrim once you add some of the mods out there.

Anyways what are peoples thoughts when it comes to the Evga 780ti SC ACX cooler vs the SC blower one? I have noticed that the ACX version has higher clocks and lower I'm guessing lower noise levels, but do people think they would run as well in SLI? I have heard concerns about two of them together. Of course the ACX are not available yet but I am trying to decide what to do.

Over at Evga Forum ACX seems to be getting positive feedback when single GPU.....some complaints as to heat n noise of the fans with multi gpu set-ups.....I was kinda torn as well, but really I dont need uber high OC's with a pair of these running 1440p.......I certainly like the looks of the blower style better so thats what I wound up going for.....Slik seems to have o complaints with noise with his blower style Titans...

So if you were theoretically looking at a three monitor 1920x1080 setup, this card might run in to some issues your saying? Guess i'm a bit confused by your statement.

Yea, noise is a concern for me. That is what is making want to wait for the ACX, well that and the higher clocks as well. Just remember as long as it is quieter than my dual 580's it is a win.

Yes. Your resolution isnt 19x10, its 57x10. That is a -lot- more textures to load into the VRAM (with any kind of AA processing on top of that) to display on your screens.

For the majority of people 3GB is enough but there are some people complaining that with BF4 at 1600P it is using 3.5 GB of vram and Skyrim with a lot of mods can even use more than 3GB at 1080P.

At 4k it isn't enough Vram. Some crazy people are even running 3 4k displays and they are complaing that 6GB on the Titans isn't even enough. So we have to wait for the 800 series and hopefully they have more Vram.

I currently run only a 1080P display though it is a 120hz monitor so it shouldn't be a problem. Wouldn't mind upgrading to a 1440P monitor when G-Synk is released. I am waiting for the Classified GTX 780 Ti is released before I make my decision. Although 2 R9 290's water cooled would be great bang for your buck. Probably smarter but I will stick with Nvidia.

Oh, i think i had a bit of misunderstanding. I wouldn't be running the game across all 3 (albeit that'd be cool now that i think about it.). Each monitor has its purpose :D. So at most, a game would run 1920 x 1080p.

Also, that being said, anyone got any good 25-27 inch monitors as recommendations? Looking to maybe get a 120 hz.

I have to say the 780ti launch is getting really close to a paper launch. I know it isn't and people can get them but doesn't it seem like there is way less available than other Nvidia launches? I mean even at mem express they only have 3 listed and two are pre-order and one is just out of stock. Ncix has like 7 different ones and half of them are back ordered. Only newegg has multiple cards in stock.

I know it has only been a week but it just seems like less out there than there should be.

They have been available at Newegg since the day after launch....dont know whats up with NCIX. My 2 Cards are with Purolators and are in Vancouver, should be in my hands by Friday.
I remember when the 580's launched there were long waits........

Although we shop Newegg.ca, the Cards are still shipped from Brea, California....on my Tracking they left LAX this morning and are now at the Sort Facility in Vancouver.

Ipaine....have you been doing ant surfing over at Evga Forum...there is an epic thread re: the noise associated with the ACX cooler.....some unhappy campers.

See they have Stock at NCIX now....and also jacked up the price again....
