nVidia tells partners to restrict # of cards they sell to one person

What I don't understand from AIB partners is, why not create multi gpu cards. How difficult can it be to slap 2 chips together? Or 4? Why don't I see any AIB doing a quad rx560 card? Or quad gtx1050ti? No SLI or crossfire activated, just 4 chips together, sharing 8 GB of RAM let's say.

For the usual reasons multi-gpu cards are rare.... cooling, tdp, power consumption. No one wants an 8slot wide, 10lb card that requires four or more 8pin connectors, has lower hashing power (due to less mem - remember equihash DAG is now over 4gb and soon will be over 6gb), doesnt OC or underclock worth a damn (as there will always be be that ONE chip that is worse than the others)... and costs more than four normal cards. :P

I wonder if I should be throwing up my 1070ti to get max value out of it, and just wait for the market to settle, and repurchase at half the price?

From my understanding Nvidia is worried about the crash of mining and Ebay getting flooded with cards, if they were to increase production to meet the mining craze and it crashed Nvida would be stuffed with to many cards.

I'm thinking that is what I would do.

I should see what my Radeon R9 290X would fetch. All I play these days is Empire Earth II lol.

Not sure I'd trust the market to do that. There's no real way to know for sure how a market that's so heavily driven by speculation is going to behave....

Its not so much nVidia, they will build and sell as many GPUs as the AIBs want, its the AIBs don't want to risk it.
