That is a hell of a lot of cats lol. How do you manage feeding? My 2 cats are on a strict diet and when I bring in the kitten I'm not sure how I'm going to control feeding.

I've heard of some people feeding in different rooms in the house. So put the food out, put a cat in, close the door, repeat for other cats, other rooms, open the doors after appropriate feeding time. And I guess remove food if they shouldn't wander around and eat anything that's left? No personal experience with that, just heard it as an option.

it's a bit more complicated than that. 3 of the cats technically aren't ares, but they treat us as if they are. my wife took all 'our' aminals when she moved back in with her folks to care for them and my in-laws have 3 cats already, so 8 with our 5, plus the dog, Rusty. that leaves Softfur and Skye here who prefer it down here as it's quieter / calmer than upstairs with the 3 grand-brats. :)

and feeding cost a fortune! $150+ / m for the 8...dunno how much for the dog, wife buys most of his food. the two here eat one or two cans of wet a couple scoops or dry and Softfur is so skinny I let her gorge on as many cat treats as she wants to keep her calories high.

I love cats, but ten is tooo many :S

The hair alone would drive me nuts. If I ever had to stop travelling for work, I'd get two, but that's my limit.
I actually like dogs too, but as I've gotten older I find I appreciate the less 'in your face' and 'LOOOOVVEEEE MEE' nature of cats. Some of my friend's dogs are just too much when I visit. I don't need a dog tongue facial....

Roofus being a puppy still does that a little but Pixel if I'm sitting on the couch and she want attention just comes and sits down at my feet and puts her paw on my leg. If I start petting/scratching her she will remove her paw and if I stop and she wasn't done yet she will put her paw back on my leg. Visitors she gets a little barky but no licking.

Some of that really comes down to the individual dog and sometimes how they were trained.
