Can't really fault them, we've let America and billionaires show that money's all that matters. Want access to healthcare without an insane wait time? Money.
Want to retire? Better hope you make a ton of money because pensions were killed off unless you're a nurse, teacher or work for the government.
Want a car/house/education?
Better hope you make a ton because they're all more expensive than ever per capita.

Honestly people 25 and under are getting dealt a bad hand.

Finally uninstalled FB from phone. I'm going to miss browsing marketplace. But the rest is just too bad for my health. Been just glued to phone more and more recently. Feed ends up getting mostly politics. Which are just filled with toxic af people / bots.

Not sure what I'll do with my work downtime. I often have 10-15 minute periods at work where I'm waiting for a machine to reboot.

Heh.... I ditched FB years ago, and never really did get into letting it be my news feed. (I use flipboard and/or google news for all my doom scrolling).

I did that 20 years ago.

My brother, who lives, in Tokyo, was approached by someone in his neighborhood who asked about me by name. They were telling him what a nice family I have. That was the last day I was on facebook.

Now I scroll Reddit all day and Youtube.

Closing my dad's estate and the law assistant neglected to send me a tax form soon enough. Once it arrives I scan and email back.
Two weeks later I call to ask about progress and get told "we haven't looked at it yet but it's a priority now".
The province mails me a warning letter stating "as the executor this form needs to be in by [certain date]".
I tell lawyer about it and suddenly "the printed form is too dark to read and we can't find the email now".
So now I bring original forms to work to get a proper pdf scan and email back.

Can hardly wait for the day it's all over and I can go nuclear on them and ask how my dad met them and why their service sucks so bad despite their reputation. Is the legal system just this bad in Ontario or is it my bad luck? Or is the estate value below the amount that lawyers give a shit about you?

Well, my MIL brother passed 6 months ago. She had to handle his estate and she didn't have a single problem. The lawyers sent everything over she needed within the first week, she filed with RC right away. He was in an assisted living home and she was his power of atterney so I don't know if that changed anything for her. All went smoothly; the only thing she asked of me was to go over everyone she had to contact to make sure she didn't forget anyone.

Guy shows up to an industrial jobsite wearing running shoes to machine the mounting plate for a vertical booster pump and throws a tantrum that he's supposed to be wearing steel toes. Had a similar issue on another site but I don't remember the details (wasn't one of the ones I was managing).

He basically tells the pump SME the job isn't getting done if they have to meet the PPE requirements. It was in no way impeding his work, just being a princess.

Sparkies aren't that bad, though don't clean up after themselves enough on most sites. Really all trades have their babies from my experience.

Not meeting PPE requirements is just plain retarded. Industrial jobs sites and PPE is a no brainer.
 
our weather up here at PR is being neurotic again. last night I was woken up several times by the sound of hail and freezing rain pelting against my window. waking up this morning, it was raining...which then turned to sleet and then turned to snow and about half an inch came down. now it's snowing hard...not quite blizzard but darn close!

-20 , above freezing with freezing rain and high winds, -20 ish again tomorrow. It can't make up its mind around here either
