TechNet discount coupon code.

So what is the disadvantage of getting Win 7 (and everything else) through TechNet instead of from a more traditional mean (aka OEM or Retail) ?

The only real disadvantage is that the activations for the OS are 10/10.

10 legit keys, but each key is only supposed to be good for 10 activations. If you reload your OS every month the key will only last you 10 months.

That said.... most folks I've talked to say that they've had no problems getting the key re-instated over the phone (Same with XP OEM).

i thought this was too good to be true........

so i signed up for tech net. using the discount code it came ( with hst of course) to a little over $295.00.

i have spent the better par of the last half hour drooooooling over what i get for software.

10 keys for everything a person could need, i was surprised to see it includes windows 7 AND vista AND xp home, etc, etc, etc.

AND office ultimate,etc,etc,etc

with 4 computers, 1 server , 2 laptops, and i netbook the price was too much to pass up. this is even cheaper than the ultimate steal.

the keys are good forever and with acronis imaging i should only have to activate once per key anyway.

my thanks to the poster for this.

the ultimate deal.

Just to confirm that even if you buy a 1 yr Technet subscription, the keys will last you forever right ?..

$300, I think it seems pretty worth it.. Share it with 3 people, darn cheap.. each person gets enough keys.. nice.. I've thinking, I might pull the string..

This is the same with Vista premium oem. I recently had my OS reactivated over the phone.

Miggs, that technically is pirating and certainly against the EULA. The keys are for use by one person in one location.

Technet is the BEST! Since I don't have to worry about shelling out $100-$200 for an OS when I want to build a computer, so it takes out about 20% of the cost of a new build. Bad thing is I want to build more rigs :haha:

Yeah I guess.. I almost committed a crime.. thanks :p . Anyhow so if I do get a subscription for a year, the keys do work forever right ?

Do what you want, but you know the rules of the forum.

And yes, apparently the keys do continue on being useful.
