who all here is using windows 11?

He means the simplified right click menu. If you click on a file, document, etc W11 doesn't include all the added right click functions by default. Things like adobe, winrar, etc. don't show up by default and are hidden in a second menu you need to access by clicking "show more options"

It's an annoying extra step so some people have been editing W11 to remove it and bring back the 'classic' right click menu.
Really it's just lazy developers, they can update their apps easily enough to support the "new" menu. Once Win11 adoption rates are higher, I'm sure most will be onboard.

The latest WinRAR versions do support the new menu though.

I'd argue there's more missing than just the "extras" when you right click.... they've also removed the text "copy / paste" and replaced them with icons at the top of the menu... drives me absolutely nuts!!! (Although I haven't done the reg mod as I try to avoid "hacks" that MS is likely to shut down in the future).

I usually use the keyboard for that, so hasn't really bothered me much. The odd time that I do use the mouse, it does give me a moment of pause lol

I tried 11 last week when I ran out of ideas to get xbox gamepass games to work again. The OS itself seems ok but I miss knowing where everything is like in 10. When the xbox app problem wasn't fixed I wasn't sad to go back to 10 and start over.

Eventually got gamepass to work again but learned it's better to activate it as soon as your OS is installed and before doing any MS Store updates.

edit: forgot to say how frustrating that whole ordeal was, as someone who likes to always be in control of their OS. Once I got gamepass working again, after restoring an image of windows 10 (that I made after a planned full reset) I normally go into the MS Store and disable auto updates for other apps. Lately I've noticed this function will come on by itself but if I make it a habit to check anytime I need the store then it's usually off and doesnt update. This time a few of us are playing a game through gamepass and we needed some DLC that was included in the plan. So no problem, click the store in game and it opens the MS Store in the background. Once the DLC was finished downloading I forgot/neglected to shut down the MS Store and kept playing. well an hour or so goes by and we shut the game down, sure enough my MS Store is still open and the auto update switch was back on and every single app updated while we were playing. To say I was pissed is an understatement.

I am curious as to who is using win 11 and if they had issues upgrading with software or gaming.
I as since I am debating on when my parts arrive to keep windows 10, or do either a fresh install win 11 or upgrade my win10 to 11 but i don't want to run into issues I can not solve

Running '11 here as of last few days, runs nice, like the colored folders. Very smooth
Was due for a computer upgrade anyway and got '11 activated to see what is going on with it
start screen with progs/apps is my only not sure yet about that ....some ways its okay
Its a new OS so a learn curve
It runs my programs fine, I don't game so cant say about that part of it

Finally upgraded my main PC to 11 (22H2) but I was lazy and just did the upgrade over Win10, not a full fresh install. I may end up regretting that.

Upgrade went fine. My complaint is that when I boot, and after all the normal stuff loads, I still have some slow startup for things like Office applications, File Explorer, even opening a browser and loading a page. But after the first time is complete, then things seem normal until reboot. Anyone else experiencing that strange lag behaviour?

Other thing was AI Suite and Aura from Asus don't seem to play nice with 11. So my RGB is borked (again) but worse my fans are running all crazy. Ramping up and down too much with small CPU temp and clock speed changes. So I'll have to remake my fan curves and get that tamed. Trying to decide to use other software or do it in the bios using Q-Fan. I tried the Armoury thing from Asus, but for some reason it would only give me RGB settings, nothing about fan control, so that doesn't work or I'm missing something.

Also, are you guys using something that changes the functionality of the Windows 11 taskbar?

I don't mind a lot of the changes, I can adjust to new things... sometimes ;) but I really don't like that you can't turn off the grouping of same open apps or windows. Seems turning that off isn't an option in the baked in functionality and you need to go to a third-party solution.
