I haven't seen GN's video or read LTT's response. I've barely watched anything LTT puts out for years because it always felt fluffy and just a long ad for what he was reviewing.

I haven't seen GN's video or read LTT's response. I've barely watched anything LTT puts out for years because it always felt fluffy and just a long ad for what he was reviewing.

I bought 10 of these last year for my guys & girls and gave 2 of these for every employee in my shop. Absolutely KILLER screwdriver, and nothing else is even close IMO. I have one at home in the kitchen, and another one in my toolbox.

But yeah, thats not really the point of the image; Its just a meme on the Billet Block situationi by saying they're 'testing it wrong' by testing it on nails when functionally every screwdriver out there would work the same. Or at least thats what I take away from it.

I bought a kit from Amazon thats about $30 and has every bit I'll ever need. That being said, I didnt make the image, just thought it was amusing.

And it was!!!

Having said that, I've now watched GN's 1st video, and the part of his 2nd one that dealt with Linus' response...... wow..... just WOW! You know, it's bad enough to test that Billet block the wrong way, but then to sell..... er, uhm.... excuse me, "auction" off that company's prototype is pretty damn low!!! If I was Billet, instead of attempting to get compensation for it, I'd be telling Linus that since he surely knows who bought that thing, he really ought to be contacting the buyer, and offering more than what they paid for it to get it back, and then return it to Billet!!!

*EDIT* - I JUST read the Reddit link that @FreeKnight posted, and not very far from the top, Billet posted again, saying that Linus actually offered to get the block back from the buyer, but Billet no longer wants it back, for a number of very understandable reasons. I guess these guys will never be sending anything to Linus in the future.....

Aaaaand, just to add to examples of where LTT gets some odd benchmark numbers, here's a video from about a year ago, that Tech Yes City questioned LTT's numbers when using a RTX 3060ti on the X58 platform, and the difference in the FPS numbers is rather significant:

I gave Jayz2cents a try, but something about him was always off putting to me. Not cringey in the way that Linus was, but it always seemed like something wasn't quite right.

Hardware unboxed seems good, though I haven't watched a lot of their stuff. Optimum tech I enjoy as it's SFF focused, though it's not the same level of scrutiny that a GN review normally has. Mostly I stick with GN. Seem closer to what 'Consumer reports' would have if they had a tech section. Tries to be mostly facts/results driven with some opinion thrown in for personality and doesn't get too comfortable with celebrity or with sponsors and partners.

That being said, if GN went sour with their approach, direction or results, I'd drop them like a dirty shirt. These are all businesses. While it's fine to want a business you like to succeed, if they don't deliver a quality product you don't owe them a thing. Too many people get emotionally caught up about media personalities.

Man…stealing my thoughts almost exactly. Jayz seems like a follower with a style I don’t really like. Optimum tech I like for the efficiency/undervolt and sff focused work, with HUB and GN my go to for most general content. That said they all have their own uniqueness that I don’t always agree with, but that’s my thoughts.

Holy cow, I'm just seeing the entire GN video now. Wow he doesn't hold back does he. Linus said he was disappointed Steve didn't approach him privately first and part of me wants to agree but the other part of me says LMG deserves whatever they get from this. Having your own employees asking for more time on projects and then denying them?! Even where I work is better than that!

And that comment Steve reads at 31:00 minutes is shocking
