NCIX bankrupt?

This is sad to see :(

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uc2Kmu4TGvc

I wish I could go and join the vultures. It sucks to see a business fail but it is fun for the consumers to get a good deal. I remember the crazy discounts when Zellers went out of business.
considering that they were taking orders but not shipping, I suspect they had nothing left but entrails to sell. nothing to see here...move along, move along.

With all that stock, I'm wondering why so many things were listed as out of stock in NCIX's last weeks.

It also looks like there are some customers' builds sitting there too.

A copy & paste, about the same topic, from my post over on the xNCIX forums:

Have you had a look at the list, and/or the pics/vids? Yes, there's a LOT of stuff there, but there's really not THAT much variety, or at least not even close to the variety they used to stock. Looking through the list/pics/vids, it seems they had lots of Bit Fenix cases, some Fractal, and Azza, but what happens when a customer wants a Corsair case, or an Antec, or even one of those brands that they do have, but they don't have the particular model of that brand. The same holds true for the motherboards in the list, i.e. there's several Gigabyte boards, some MSI, some Asus, but they only have a few models. We all know how picky a lot of people are about brand/model of parts they throw in a system.

It also looks like there are some customers' builds sitting there too.

I expect there are some - there was at least one person, on the NCIX forums, that was asking about how he was supposed to get his 'puter back, that he'd sent in for repair, now that the doors were closed.

Took a look at the offline bidding, the GPUs are already at stupid prices. The CPU are pushing MSRP if you factor in the tax and auction fee. Hell even that FX8370 is $75 to start which is close to $100 all in and it's $165 on Aliexpress.

If I had ever caught wind of this being true then I would make sure that I would never ever support any other ventures created by those who ran this company. Extreme dick move keeping someone's rig in for repair.

Yeah, I never read it anywhere, about whether or not that guy, or anybody else got screwed in that sort of situation, but if they had several, or even just one, customer 'puter in for repair, once they knew they were goin' down, that stuff should have been returned A.S.A.P. The one guy I was referring to, was advised by someone on their forums, that he should contact the bankruptcy trustee, to see about gettin' his stuff back.... never did hear how it turned out, tho.

Agreed with this. Though judging from the pictures and videos, the whole office does have the look of a "ok everyone, pack up your personal stuff, we're ceasing operations immediately" situation. In that case, there's not much that can be done by the employees since its the trustee's responsibility to handle outstanding business matters.

What shocks me is the amount of inventory of nonsensical items. PALLETS of everything from clothes (WTF?) to Cryorig coolers to no-name battery chargers. It makes me wonder what the business model was....

Any pallets of rice cookers and feet massagers? They were always on "sale", so they most have pallets of them somewhere? :bleh:
