The 'What are you watching' Thread

I know, I know, it's just a trailer, it could still suck, but golly this one looks good to me! Except for the gun, AK-47 like? at the beginning, but whatever...

While setting up my new TV and looking for 4K content I realised that I'd missed the release of S2 Witcher, and that I'd never gotten around to watching the second season of Love Death and Robots let alone the third..... :)

Guess I've got some catching up to do.

I also sat through the first 10 minutes of WoT EP1 just to check out the 4K content.... looks pretty damn spiffy!!!!

One thing that does however stand out is how little 4K content there is on bell's channel line-up. For the most part the only 4K content you're going to get is a baseball game or a paid movie rental. I doubt my Rogers lineup is going to be any different.

Back in the relatively early days of FHD TVs there was a specific channel dedicated to showing 1080p content (lots of nature, and astronomy shows IIRC :) ). They really need something along those same lines for 4K content.

We loved "Love Death and Robots" S3, special note for the Night of the mini dead episode, it was epic.

Finally watched Shang-Chi last night and.... it's not very good. Definitely one of the weaker marvel entries, bland story, characters. Powers weren't particularly neat. It's not awful like some of the X-men moves for example, but it's entirely skippable.

I'm honestly kind of suspicious that its Rotten Tomatoes audience score of 98% is driven by China pumpers or bots. I'll give it credit on some visual design elements and not falling into every wuxia trope (or traditionally racially questionable western ideas of 'China'), but I doubt I'd ever watch it again.

Will probably give the Hawkeye show a try next. I haven't heard a single thing about it, so I assume it was just 'okay', but I'll give it a try.
